About
Kenneth R. Ayers Kenneth R. Ayers lost his battle with
pancreatic cancer in 2007. Ken was a pillar in the Hokie and Northern Virginia
community through his endless support to kids, schools, friends and
professional colleagues. Whether coaching or managing sports teams, organizing
trips to Blacksburg for Hokie football, or enjoying golf and the outdoors with
friends and family, Hank (Ken) always put everyone before himself. Ken was as
lucky as he was skilled at life and sports and those around him were extremely
lucky to have been part of his short rich life. In an effort to keep his spirit
for life and Virginia Tech going, The Kenneth R. Ayers Memorial Foundation has
been established to provide permanent and partial scholarships at Virginia Tech
and at various universities and colleges, as well as make charitable
contributions to other worthy organizations.
